LUDINGTON — Marlon Derrick Adams, 50, of Detroit, was arrested on charges of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine, and possession of marijuana by State, Sheriffs’, Chiefs’ Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT) detectives with the assistance of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday, July 6.

Adams was arraigned in the 79th District Court, according to a SSCENT press release. He is a habitual offender who has three prior felony convictions on his criminal record. The most serious charge, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and/or a $25,000 fine.

Adams is currently lodged in the Mason County Jail on a $50,000/cash bond.

SSCENT“Adams came to the attention of SSCENT detectives while they were working another case. After the detective’s observations, a deputy from the Mason County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle that Adams was a passenger in. Ultimately, suspected crack cocaine and marijuana were located in the vehicle. An amount of US currency was also seized from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle has been released, pending further investigation,” the press release states.
