LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 79 th District Court:

  • Douglas Gerald Soberalski, 36, 3048 W. Conrad Rd., Amber Township, pleaded guilty on June 14 to attempted assault/resisting/obstructing and operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) second offense. He was sentenced to 32 days in jail with credit for two days already served; one year discretionary jail for two years; $1,740 in fines and costs; must attend outpatient treatment; the vehicle used in the offense shall be immobilized or forfeited; must attend victim impact weekend; must have a substance abuse evaluation; no drugs/alcohol; must not enter any establishment where alcohol is served by the glass; conviction is reportable to Secretary of State.
  • Gary Martin Ventrice, Jr, 35, 4899 N. Ford Lake Rd., Sheridan Township, pleaded guilty on June 7 to possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and using a controlled substance. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day already served; $1,305 in fines and costs; license suspended for 180 days; must attend outpatient treatment; one year discretionary jail for two years; must attend inpatient treatment; must have a substance abuse evaluation; must attend Narcotics Anonymous/Alcoholics Anonymous (NA/AA) two times per week for two years; must attend victims impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; conviction is reportable to Secretary of State. A charge of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) was dismissed on the motion of the prosecutor with prejudice.
  • Colton Clay Outcalt, 26, 2443 Brunson Rd., Pere Marquette Township, pleaded no contest on June 7 to operating while intoxicated or under the influence of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 71 days in jail with credit for 36 days already served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; $1,135 in fines and costs; must attend victim impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; conviction reportable to Secretary of State.
  • Rachel Ann Herman, 41, 6721 W. Hermitage Dr., Hamlin Township, pleaded guilty on June 7 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days already served, 93 days discretionary jail for one year, $600 in fines and costs, and may perform 25 hours of community service for a credit towards fines and costs.
  • Danyel Rebecca Horsley, 28, 2374 Sanders St., Custer, pleaded guilty on June 7 to third degree retail fraud (shoplifting) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days already served, 93 days discretionary jail for one year, $600 in fines and costs, must comply with CPS, subject to full panel drug test every two weeks, subject to random PBTs, and no drugs/alcohol.
  • David Arthur Shimel, 54, 2279 N. Victory Corners Rd., Victory Township, pleaded guilty on June 13 to operating while impaired by liquor (OWIL) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days already served, 93 days discretionary jail for one year, $870 in fines and costs, must attend victims impact panel, no drugs/alcohol, subject to random PBTs, must obtain outpatient substance abuse counseling, conviction is reportable to Secretary of State.
  • Mohammed El-Mehdi, 37, 1422 Johnson St., Lake Odessa, Mich., pleaded guilty on June 13 to disorderly person drunk and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days already served, 90 days discretionary jail for one year, $285 in fines and costs, 12 months of probation, no drugs/alcohol, subject to random PBTs, and must complete counseling program.
  • Ashley Nicole Martinson, 27, 112 E. Danaher St. Apt 2, Ludington, pleaded guilty on June 7 to third degree retail fraud (shoplifting) and was sentenced to 19 days in jail with credit for 19 days already served, 93 days discretionary jail for one year, $600 in fines and costs, must obtain outpatient counseling, and no drugs/alcohol.
  • Kalisha Jonell Fisher, 22, 7531 E. Decker Rd., Branch Township, pleaded guilty on June 7 to operating while intoxicated or under the influence of a controlled substance and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day already served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; $1,135 in fines and costs; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; conviction reportable to Secretary of State. A charge of operating with a blood alcohol content of .17 or more was dismissed on the motion of the prosecutor with prejudice.
  • Charles Jessie Dominy, 32, 2054 Webber Ave., Burton, Mich., pleaded guilty on June 13 to disorderly conduct/disturbing the peace and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day already served and $285 in fines and costs.
  • Paul Arthur Cilman, 55, 3192 Conrad Rd., Amber Township, pleaded guilty on June 7 to littering on private property and was sentenced to pay $180 in fines and costs.

Dismissals

  • Esmerelda Villeda, 36, 310 Scott St., Scottville, had a charge of operating without security (no insurance) dismissed without prejudice by the prosecutor on June 8. “Defendant pleaded guilty to a lesser charge,” according to court records.
  • Anthony Scott Crysler, 25, 1761 56 th St., Chase, had a charge of operating without security (no insurance) dismissed without prejudice by the prosecutor on June 8. “Defendant pleaded guilty to a lesser charge,” according to court records.
  • Tonya Renee Pluger, 33, 3747 N. M-37, Baldwin, had a charge of operating without security (no insurance) dismissed without prejudice by the prosecutor on June 8. “Defendant pleaded guilty to a lesser charge,” according to court records.
  • Jonathan Wayne Haynes, 40, 1092 Brandy Ln., Ludington, had a charge of defrauding an innkeeper dismissed without prejudice by the prosecutor on June 8. “Victim wishes to pursue civil remedy,” according to court records.
