LUDINGTON — Douglas Andrew Wilson, 54, of 4705 E. Fisher Rd., pleaded guilty in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, June 14, to a felony of failure to register as a sex offender.

In exchange for his guilty plea, Wilson is looking at serving nine months up front of a one-year discretionary jail term. Wilson will also be ordered to probation as part of the plea agreement, said Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola. He will be ordered to undergo a substance abuse evaluation and must follow the recommendations, Spaniola added.

Because it is his third offense, the maximum penalty for the conviction is elevated to 10 years, the prosecutor said.

Sentencing is set for Aug. 9 at 1:30 p.m.
