Suspect shoots himself in front deputies.

servpro_springstead_022616FREE SOIL TOWNSHIP — A suspect shot himself in a suicide attempt as Mason County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call of a domestic assault Thursday, June 2, at 1:22 a.m. in the 1400 block of East Hoague Road. The suspect was treated for non-life threatening injuries at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. A report is being forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office for possible charges, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

– 5:45 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injuries, Free Soil and Darr roads, Free Soil Township.

– 8:45 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injuries, Sugar Grove and Schoenherr roads, Sheridan Township.

– 11:30 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injuries, US 31 and Hansen Road, Custer Township.

– 4:45 p.m., (Michigan State Police, Hart post), a 27-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for retail fraud, 4000 block of US 10, Amber Township.

– 7:20 p.m., (MSP), a 61-year-old Manistee man was arrested for possession of a firearm and assault, 11000 block of Morton Road, Grant Township.
