Man allegedly attempts to run over girlfriend with vehicle.

servpro_springstead_022616BRANCH TOWNSHIP — Warrants are being sought for a 35-year-old Mason County man who allegedly attempted to run his girlfriend over with his vehicle Friday, May 6, on East Chickasaw Trail, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The suspect fled the scene prior to arrival of Mason County Sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies were dispatched at 8:41 p.m. ​following a 911 call from a residence, Cole said. “The victim reported her boyfriend allegedly choked her and attempted to run her over with his vehicle,” Cole said. The sheriff’s office is seeking charges of aggravated domestic assault (strangulation) and felonious assault with a motor vehicle.

– 11:42 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash involving an injury, Hansen Rd., near Dennis Rd., Amber Township. A 59-year-old Ludington woman was traveling eastbound on Hansen Road when she struck a guard rail, lost control, flipped over the guard rail and rolled down an embankment. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. She was airlifted to Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

– 11:08 p.m., (MCSO), a 20-year-old Fountain man was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm and possession of an unregistered handgun following a traffic stop, Main and Foster, Village of Fountain. Deputies reportedly located an unregistered handgun under the front seat.
