Star Wars: The Force Awakens among movies at Scottville Clown Band Shell this summer.

star warsSCOTTVILLE — “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will be among the movies shown at the Scottville Clown Band Shell this summer. This will be the 27th season of the band shell’s free Tuesday night Neighborhood Concert Series and the fourth season of Movies at the Shell.

Movies at the Shell will be presented on Tuesday nights this year in late July and early August. Each evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a Family Fun Night in the parking lot of the Scottville Optimist Club, followed by live musical entertainment and then the movie.

“We are pretty excited to offer a great season of entertainment for all age groups this summer,” said Rob Alway, co-chairman of the band shell committee. “We have worked very hard revamping our entertainment options and making sure that the entire community has an opportunity to enjoy the shell.”

The movie season will begin with “Frozen” on  July 19. The evening’s sponsor will be Mason County Central Schools with a variety of fun carnival activities available along with information about the school district. Live entertainment that evening will be MCC’s own Chloe and Olivia Kimes, beginning at 7 p.m. The movie will begin at dusk, about 9:30 p.m.

The Family Fun Night will be July 26. The evening’s sponsor will be Smith & Eddy Insurance and the featured film will be “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” The Family Fun Night theme will be Safety Night with displays from local emergency services including fire departments, police departments and EMS. The evening’s live entertainment will be Ludington’s own Emma Taranko and Mallory Shinn.

The final Family Fun Night will be August 2. The evening’s sponsor will be West Shore Bank and the featured film will be “Hotel Transylvania 2.” The evening’s Family Fun Night will be Safari Night. Featured live entertainment will be Jimmy Dodson.

All concerts begin at 7 p.m., Family Fun Nights begin at 6:30 p.m. and movies begin at dusk, about 9:30 p.m.
