LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in the 79th District Court:

– Patrick Kendall Rogers, 45, of 207 Summit St., Muir, Michigan, was found guilty Feb. 16 of attempted firearms possession by a felon and sentenced to one year discretionary jail for one year; seized firearm is forfeited; and $535 in fines and costs. One count firearms possession by a felon dismissed.

– Ashley Nicole Martinsen, 26, of 112 E. Danaher St., Apt. 2, Ludington, was found guilty Feb. 16 of third-degree fraud and sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and must complete Economic Crime Program within six months. One count of driving while license suspended (DWLS) dismissed.

– Dana Lynn Erley, 26, of 550 N. Rush St., Pentwater, was found guilty Feb. 16 of operating while impaired and sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); $935 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend the next session of the Victims’ Impact Panel (VIP); and no alcohol/drugs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of controlled substance possession – schedule 5/LSD and one count of improper transport of medical marijuana were dismissed.

– Michael Kenneth Frey, 24, no address listed, was found guilty Feb. 9 of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and operating with a forged/altered/false license. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail with credit for eight days served; $685 in fines and costs; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs) and drug tests. Convictions reportable to SOS. One count of improper plates and one count of no insurance dismissed.

– Thomas Leroy Rees, 27, of 5988 W. Sixth St., Pere Marquette Township, was found guilty Feb. 8 of improper plates and sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $175 in fines and costs. One count of no insurance dismissed.

– Dustin Michael Jewett, 24, of 814 Filer St., Ludington, was found guilty Feb. 11 of DWLS and sentenced to 13 days in jail with credit for 13 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and $285 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Dylana Leigh Hickey, 19, of 308 E. Court St., Apt. 7, Ludington, was found guilty Feb. 11 of minor in possession of alcohol (MIP) and sentenced to nine months probation; no alcohol/drugs; must submit to random PBTs; must have a substance abuse evaluation and follow recommendations; and $265 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Crystal Rena Atwood, 40, of 7415 E. Anthony Rd., Branch Township, was found guilty Feb. 11 of recreational trespassing and sentenced to $265 in fines and costs.

– Brenda Marie Copeland, 40, of 206 S. Delia St., Ludington, was found guilty Feb. 9 of larceny less than $200 and sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must have a substance abuse evaluation and follow recommendations; no alcohol/drugs; must submit to random PBTs and drug tests; must attend AA/NA twice a week for two years; and $210 in fines and costs.

Dismissals

– Karen Ann Lamb, 55, of 415 S. James St., Apt. 1, Ludington, one count of domestic violence was dismissed Feb. 9. “Case cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt,” court records state.

– Bruce L. Wemple, 52, of 7819 E. Chicksaw Trail, Branch Township, one count of no insurance was dismissed Feb. 9. “Defendant pleaded guilty  to a lesser charge,” court records state.

– Caitlyn Anne George-Cook, 22, of 1124 Brandy Lane, Pere Marquette Township, one count of no insurance was dismissed Feb. 9. “Interests of justice do not require further prosecution of this matter,” court records state.

– Latresha Rae Palenthorpe, 47, of 3811 N. Hwy. US 31, Victory Township, one count of no insurance was dismissed Feb. 10 “per plea agreement,” according to court records.

– Melanie Sue Babcock, 34, of 615 US 10, Scottville, one count of no insurance was dismissed Feb. 9. “Defendant pleaded guilty to a lesser charge,” court records state.

– Dylan Thomas Sorensen, 20, of 207 Gibson Rd., Branch Township, one count of no insurance was dismissed Feb. 9 “per plea agreement,” according to court records.
