Driver arrested for giving false info police following crash.

SpringsteadVertical_091015SUMMIT TOWNSHIP — A 24-year-old Baldwin man was arrested for giving false information to a police officer; failure to report an accident; second offense driving while license suspended (DWLS); and no insurance Monday, Feb. 1, at 3:52 a.m. after Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Michigan State Police troopers from the Hart post responded to a one-vehicle crash at Pere Marquette Highway and Hawley Road.

The driver allegedly gave a false name, and the crash was found to have taken place in Logan Township, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

7:39 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injuries, US 31 freeway south of Conrad Road overpass, Amber Township.

2 p.m., (MSP), a 42-year-old Manistee woman was arrested for retail fraud at Meijer, U.S. 10-31 and Brye Road, Amber Township.

4:23 p.m., (MCSO), a 23-year-old Fountain man was arrested on an outstanding Friend of the Court warrant out of Mason County, US 31 and Countyline Road, Grant Township.

7:30 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injuries, Chauvez and Morton roads, PM Township.
