Elderly man arrested for choking victim; Silly-String spar leads to arrests.

BRANCH TOWNSHIP — A 76-year-old Walhalla man was arrested by deputies from the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at 7:15 p.m., at a residence in the 7300 block of E. US 10, where he allegedly choked the victim.

In separate incident, deputies arrested a 24-year-old Muskegon man and a 26-year-old Muskegon woman at Walmart in Pere Marquette Township Sunday, Jan. 31, at 9:19 p.m. after reportedly spraying each other with cans of Silly String and refusing to pay for them.

– 5:19 a.m., a 21-year-old Scottville man was arrested for operating while impaired after deputies responded to a call of a vehicle in the ditch with the driver reportedly sleeping behind the wheel, Decker and Tuttle roads, Custer Township.

– 6:36 a.m., a  59-year-old Irons man was arrested following a traffic stop for operating while intoxicated and open intoxicants, US 31 and N. Scottville Road, Custer Township.

– 11:09 a.m., a 33-year-old Scottville woman was cited for driving while license suspended (DWLS) following a traffic stop, Stiles and Meisenheimer roads, Riverton Township.

– 3:01 p.m., a 48-year-old Pentwater man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant out of Mason County and an outstanding Crawford County Friend of the Court warrant, 6900 block of S. Stiles Road, Riverton Township.
