CUSTER — Custer VFW Gold Bar Post 5096 donated $2,300 towards the door safety program at Mason County Eastern Schools. The donation will purchase 10 Boot devices that will secure doors in the event of an intruder in the school. Nearly all the doors in county schools have been fitted with the device. All the funding has been through donations from the public, with no tax dollars used.

Tonight, the Fin & Feather Club and Friends of the Fin & Feather Club are expected to make a total of $2,000 donation to the county-wide fundraising program.

Those wishing to donate, may write a check to the Friends of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, c/o Community Foundation for Mason County, PO Box 10, Ludington, MI 49431. Note in the memo line: Adopt A Door.
