The crash occurred at 1:51 p.m. when a 1999 Ford pickup, driven by 48-year-old Timothy Genson of Scottville, lost control while traveling westbound on US 10 and struck an eastbound 1999 Dodge minivan operated by Katey VonSprecken, 30, of Ludington. Katey and her 8-year-old son Owen were not injured.

It was snowing and blowing snow, and the roadway was snow covered and slippery at the time of the crash, and all occupants wore safety belts, the sheriff said.

Pere Marquette Fire Department, Ludington Fire Department Jaws of Life, Life EMS, and the Michigan State Police assisted Mason County Sheriff’s deputies at the scene.
