Obituary: Mamie Raspotnik, 91, Manistee.

Mamie Raspotnik, 91, of Manistee passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at West Shore Medical Center.  Mamie was born at home in the Tallman area of Mason County on August 5, 1924, the daughter of Matthew and Hilda (Ostberg) Granbacka who preceded her in death along with her son Frank Raspotnik, daughter Betty Ledger, her sister & brother-in-law Martha & Leonard Dalke, a baby sister, her brothers Emil, Carl, Alfred, and Albert Granbacka, and a great-grandson.

Mamie loved to spend time catching up on current events reading the local newspaper and magazines, and especially enjoyed visiting with her family or talking nice walks near her home.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Alan (Janeen) of Irons, James (Pam) of Manistee, Joe (Patty) of Free Soil, Dave (Cecilia) of Belding, Richard, and Edward (Kathleen) both of Manistee, her daughter-in-law Marie Raspotnik of Georgia, her sister Mary (Floyd) Oleniczak of Manistee, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held for Mamie at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2016, at the Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville.  Burial will take place at Tallman Cemetery.  Friends may meet with her family for a time of visitation on Monday from noon until time of services at the funeral home. Those who wish to remember Mamie with a donation are encouraged to make it to a charity of their choice.
