BRANCH TOWNSHIP — A 35-year-old Fountain man was arrested after police found him hiding in a closet at a home in the 7000 block of East US 10 Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 11:28 a.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about a wanted man in the Walhalla area, Cole said. The suspect was wanted on a two-count felony warrant out of Allegan County charging him with failure to comply with the sex offender registry act and one warrant out of Van Buren County for failure to appear on a civil charge.

The sheriff’s office is also seeking a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. The Hart post of the Michigan State Police assisted at the scene.
