DeJonge Middle School Student Council organized a food and household supply drive December 7-11 to benefit the Ludington Teen Resource Center. Students were challenged to bring in any non-perishable foods and new household supplies so that the Resource Center would be well stocked for the holidays.

As a fun incentive, the grade levels competed with one another to see who could bring in the most items. “The generosity was more than evident,” said teacher Teresa Eriksen.

The students brought in over 1,000 items in five days. “It’s just amazing to see what these kids can do when they work together to make a difference,” Eriksen said.
