LUDINGTON — A 23-year-old Pentwater man was sentenced to serve five months of a one-year discretionary jail term in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, Dec. 1, for two counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police.

Garrett Scott Buck pleaded guilty to the charges last October.

“I just want to say I’m really sorry for everything that has happened,” Buck said. “I want to show people that I can be a good person,” he added.

Judge Susan K. Sniegowski also sentenced Buck to one and a half years probation. Buck received credit for 48 days served in jail.

In exchange for Buck’s guilty plea, two additional counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police were dismissed.

Buck, of 2622 Anthony Rd., was arrested July 2 by the Ludington Police Department.
