AMBER TOWNSHIP — An overnight dusting of snow and today’s sunshine has caused many country roads to be covered in ice. Four vehicles were involved in two separate crashes within minutes of each other at the same location Sunday afternoon.
The initial crash occurred when a Pontiac Vibe was traveling west on Hansen Road and slipped off the road and struck a parked unoccupied Dodge Dakota pickup truck at 2792 W. Hansen Road. Immediately after, a westbound Chevrolet Avolanche pickup slipped off the road and struck the Vibe. A few minutes after, a Ford Focus, also west bound, slipped off the road and struck the Avalanche.
While there were three incidents, the Mason County Sheriff’s Office is reporting the events as two crashes. No one was injured. Scottville and Ludington fire departments were called because initially one of the vehicle occupants was reported trapped in a vehicle.
Michigan State Police also responded.
