LUDINGTON — A two vehicle rear end crash on Ludington Avenue sent two people to the hospital early Friday evening. The crash occurred about 6 p.m. when a Ford Escape, driven by a 55-year-old Ludington woman, was traveling east on Ludington Avenue and was preparing to turn north onto Staffon Street when the vehicle was rear-ended by a Mercury SUV driven by a 19-year-old Scottville man, according to Ludington Police Department officers on scene.

The collision caused the Ford to travel onto the sidewalk northeast of the intersection, about 50 feet from the point of impact. The 55-year-old woman and her minor granddaughter were transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. Their conditions were unknown but injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening.

The 19-year-old received a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way.

Responding to the scene were Ludington Police Department, Ludington Fire Department and Life EMS ambulance.
