Manistee woman pleads to forging prescriptions.

MANISTEE — A 35-year-old Manistee woman recently pleaded guilty in 19th Circuit Court for one count of obtaining controlled substances by fraud. Chrystal Ann Halcome faces up to four years in prison and/or a $30,000 fine for allegedly passing forged prescriptions in Benzie, Manistee and Oceana counties.

Halcome was arrested by State, Sheriff, Chief Enforcement Team (SSCENT) following an investigation that began in May. She accepted the plea agreement on Oct. 19.
