Serious-injury crash; man passed out along roadside; suspect asks to be arrested.

EDEN TWP. — A 19-year-old Fountain man was seriously injured after the vehicle he was operating left the roadway, struck a tree and overturned on Ordway Road south of Hawley Road Sunday, Nov. 1, at 12:40 a.m., according to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office.  

The man was treated at Spectrum Health/Ludington Hospital and then flown via Aeromed to Spectrum Health/Grand Rapids Hospital, where he is being treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor, and the case remains under investigation, according to MCSO.

Friday, Oct. 30, 2015:

6:55 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injuries, US-10 and Bean Road, Custer Twp.

5:39 p.m., (MCSO), a 53-year-old Ludington man was arrested for disorderly person after a deputy found him passed out, reportedly from intoxication, on the side of the road, Jebavy Drive and Bryant Road, Pere Marquette Twp.

6:41 p.m., (MCSO), warrants are being sought for a 27-year-old Bear Lake man on charges of felony damage to police property and possession of marijuana after deputies were called to an “unknown problem” in the 3200 block of E. Free Soil Rd., Free Soil Twp. Upon police arrival, the subject in question reportedly began acting bizarre and demanded to be arrested. He was placed in the back of a patrol car when he began attempting to kick the windows out. He was transported to the hospital for treatment for an overdose.

8:22 p.m., (MCSO), a 19-year-old Fountain man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued in Mason County for an original charge of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct (CSC) following a traffic stop, US-10 east of PM Hwy., PM Twp.

9:34 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injuries, Scottville and Hawley roads, Riverton Twp. A passing motorist reported the crash, and a 26- year-old Norton Shores woman was cited the following day for failing to report a crash.
