MI_-_State_Police_logo_mspAMBER TOWNSHIP — A charter bus was involved in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 10-31 east of Stiles Road Saturday evening. According to the Michigan State Police, the crash occurred about 6:14 p.m. when a 2004 Kia Sol, driven by Lauren Lux, 24, of Scottville, was traveling eastbound and was attempting to pass the 2013 Van Hool coach bus, driven by Robert Boger, 66, of Holland. Lux’s vehicle apparently lost control due to the wet conditions on the road and crashed into the side of the bus. The Kia then ran off the roadway and crashed into a telephone pole.

Initially, Life EMS, Scottville Fire Department and Custer Fire Department were dispatched but then immediately disregarded. Shortly afterwards, law enforcement on scene requested EMS to respond because Lux had sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. She was treated and released on the scene. Boger and the 26 passengers on the bus did not sustain injuries.

Speed, alcohol or drugs were not believed to be contributing factors to the crash, according to a report from MSP. Assisting MSP on the scene were personnel from Mason County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation.
