79th District Court sentencings

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 79th District Court:

Donald Ferguson Marshall, 54, of 1525 County Line Rd., Grant Township, was found guilty Oct. 13 of failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance). He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; and $575 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and one count of improper plates were dismissed.

Robert Lee Erzen, 34, of ℅ 147 Bonnie St., Ludington, was found guilty Oct. 13 of attempted failure to register as a sex offender. He was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for three days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; and $738 in fines and costs.

Lena Marie Jensen, 28, of 467 S. Shelby Rd., Shelby, was found guilty Oct. 13 of operating an ORV while impaired. She was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must have a substance abuse evaluation within 21 days and follow recommendations; must not operate an ORV for 90 days; and $870 in fines and costs. One count of operating an ORV with a blood alcohol content of .10 or more was dismissed.

Michael Kenneth Frey, 24, of 4357 Yale St., Baldwin, was found guilty Oct. 20 of DWLS. He was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for five days served; $285 in fines and costs; and 93 days discretionary jail for one year. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Melissa Ann Daniels, 25, of 720 N. Rowe St., Ludington, was found guilty Oct. 13 of failure to report an accident. She was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and $325 in fines and costs. Restitution is reserved. One count of reckless driving was dismissed.

Dale Alfred Bogvad, 61, of 6143 E. First St., Walhalla, was found guilty Oct. 13 of assault and battery. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; $978 in fines and costs; no contact with the victim; and may perform 53 hours of community service, which would be credited to his fines and costs. One count of assault with a dangerous weapon dismissed.

Manuel Rodrigo Guambana-Mejia, 35, of 5050 Ridge Rd., Lot #86, Ypsilanti, was found guilty Oct. 15 of attempted fish snagging and sentenced to $275 in fines and costs.

Jose Salbador-Zhinin Morocho, of 1515 Ridge Rd., Lot #18, Ypsilanti, was found guilty Oct. 15 of two counts of attempted fish snagging and sentenced to $275 in fines and costs and sentenced to $275 in each file.

Jennifer Lynn Nickelson, 27, of 210 E. Second St., Scottville, was found guilty Oct. 13 of operating while intoxicated. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail; if she attends Impact Weekend within four months, jail sentence will be suspended; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; $1,430 in fines and costs; must have a substance abuse evaluation and follow recommendations; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs). Restitution is reserved. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Renee Pauline Masunas, 39, of 304 Fifth St., Ludington, was found guilty Oct. 13 of third-degree retail fraud. She was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $535 in fines and costs. Restitution is reserved.

Dismissal

Jerri Lynn Falconer, 52, of 2619 N. Benson Rd., Sheridan Township, one count of domestic violence was dismissed Oct. 9. “Unable to secure attendance of necessary witness for prosecution of this matter,” court records state.
