Watts appointed as Optimist district VP.

Diane Watts was recently installed at the Michigan District Conference as lieutenant governor for Michigan Optimist Zone 5, which includes seven Clubs: Greater Muskegon, Ludington, Mona Shores, Muskegon Heights, Scottville, Shelby and Whitehall/White Lake area.

Diane’s function as lieutenant governor will be to help the clubs by facilitating communication between the district and club leadership and to be a resource to clubs. She has held the position of president of the Scottville Club and continues to serve on the club’s board. Her background reflects leadership roles as the director of development at the Frederick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park and executive director of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for West Michigan.

The mission of Optimist International is to provide hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in kids. The organization’s vision is to be recognized worldwide as the premier volunteer organization that values all children and helps them develop to their full potential.
