Habitat for Humanity LudVegas fundraising event is Friday.

HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — Vegas is coming to Ludington this Friday! Habitat for Humanity of Mason County will hold its annual dinner/fundraiser event at Lincoln Hills Golf Club with the theme of LudVegas.

The event is one of the organization’s major fundraisers and will raise money for the organization’s Neighborhood Revitalization Program and its A Brush with Kindness program. A Brush with Kindness program is an exterior home preservation service that offers painting, landscaping, weather stripping and minor repair services for homeowners in need. ABWK helps low-income homeowners impacted by age, disability and family circumstances, who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes, reclaim their homes with pride and dignity.

“We have always done an annual dinner, which was fairly tradition with a speaker,” Habitat board member Meaghan Greene said. “A few years ago we started providing entertainment instead and noticed that we were generating a little more excitement. This year, we decided to really change up the event and offer gaming and, instead of a sit-down dinner, the meal will be more casual.”

The gamers will not win actual money and will play with a set amount, based on their ticket admission.

The event begins at 6 p.m. with appetizers being served beginning at 6:30 p.m. It will last until 10 p.m. The cost is $75 per person or $130 per couple. Tickets can be purchased through the Habitat for Humanity Facebook page, website, the Habitat for Humanity Restore, located at 3408 W. U.S. 10/31 between Ludington and Scottville or at America’s Best Value motel at 5095 W. U.S. 10.
