Movie at the Scottville Bandshell
 Friday, August 7, 2015, “The Lego Movie” will be shown at the Scottville Clown Band Shell. This animated feature includes the voice of Chris Pratt as Emmet Brickowoski, a construction worker who is thought to be the prophesied “Special” and is recruited to stop the infamous Lord Business, voiced by Will Ferrell, an evil tyrant who is set on permanently gluing the Lego universe.

 The shows will start at dusk on their respective evenings. Make it to either or make it to both, but don’t forget to bring friends, family and a comfortable chair!

 Downtown Manistee Sidewalk Sales – Manistee

 Friday, August 7, 2015 – Saturday, August 8, 2015, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

 Visit Manistee on Friday and Saturday and get your shop on! Downtown stores will be pulling their sales to the sidewalks with everything from apparel, antiques, housewares and more! While perusing, shoppers will also enjoy live music in the streets as local musicians and troubadours show off their talents. Bring your wallets and your shopping shoes and enjoy a lovely stroll through the bargains of downtown Manistee.

Shake, Wag ‘n Roll Benefit Stroll – Pentwater

Saturday, August 8, 2015, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Pets on parade! Pet owners and their well-behaved pets are invited to participate in the Shake Wag ‘n Roll Benefit Stroll through Pentwater. The event was created to raise funds for Local Animal Shelter Support, Inc. or LASSI, an organization that provides veterinary care for neglected, abused, stray or abandoned animals of Oceana County. Registration for the event begins at 9a.m. at the Pentwater Village Green and Gazebo. Donations are appreciated and those pre-registered with donations of $25 or more per person will receive a LASSI 2015 t-shirt and a LASSI bandana for the participating pet. Also included in the event is a silent auction and numerous vendor booths that will be set up throughout the Village Green. For more information on pre-registering, email mi.lassi@yahoo.com.

Big Sable Point Bus Day – Ludington

 Saturday, August 8, 2015, noon – 5 p.m.

Explore the Big Sable Point Lighthouse without having to make the nearly two mile trek! The Ludington State Park will be offering shuttles to the lighthouse at a cost of $5 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available at the building next to the park office.  

Gold Coast Artisan Fair – Ludington

Saturday, August 8, 2015 & Sunday, August 9, 2015, 10 a.m. – 5p.m.

Looking for something to hang over the mantle? Or maybe a unique coffee mug that fits your hand just right? The Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce will be welcoming artists from around the country for the 32nd Annual Gold Coast Artisan Fair this weekend. Visit the Ludington City Park on Saturday and Sunday and browse through arts created by a variety of vendors. The park will be filled with numerous booths showcasing each artist’s talent and skill with pieces available for purchase. If you’re lucky, you might just get to meet the artist!
