We here at MCP and OCP are excited to welcome back Carrie Klemm to our editorial team. Carrie was a contributing writer for MCP a few years ago before she left the area to explore the wild West.

Carrie will serve as a correspondent, writing about various arts and entertainment, education and social topics around Mason, Oceana and Manistee counties.

Carrie is a graduate of Ludington High School. She earned a degree in English, specializing in creative writing, from Michigan State University. She was born and raised in Mason County and comes from a long line of storytellers, including her grandfather, the late “Big George” Wilson.

“I’m a local. I love Ludington and Mason County and love being in ‘the know.’” Carrie says. “I’m looking forward to digging in deeper to topics around the area.”

Carrie is well known in the Mason County music scene. Her singing abilities have made her one of the most requested performers in the local entertainment scene. Her work experience includes working as the communication coordinator for Lake Michigan Carferry (the third generation in her family to work for the carferries) and most recently as a title examiner/team leader for Western Land Services.

“I love history and working for those two companies gave me the ability to put that love of history to use,” she says.
