Disc golf for Haiti tournament this Saturday.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — The second annual Disc Golf for Haiti Tournament will take place on Saturday, June 20 at Mason County Park on West Chauvez Road. Registration begins at noon with a players’ meeting at 12:45 p.m. and play starting at 1 p.m.

Proceeds of the event will benefit the St. Simon’s Parish Hearts to Haiti Outreach, which sponsors the School of the Infant Jesus in Port-au-Prince, Haiti through fundraising efforts. Past proceeds have helped to purchase and install a water purification system for the school, eye exams and eyeglasses for the children and operational costs of the school; 900 children attend the school.

Cost of the tournament is $20 per person in advance or $25 the day of the tournament.

There will also be group lessons available for persons ages 13 and over on June 20 beginning at 9:30 a.m. registration and instruction at 10 a.m. Cost is $30 and includes bottled water, trail mix and an entry into a drawing for two gift baskets.
