College board adopts new president’s contract.

VICTORY TWP. – At Monday night’s monthly meeting, the West Shore Community College Board of Trustees adopted a contract with Dr. Kenneth Urban to serve as the fourth president of the college.

After an interview with the trustees, Urban was selected from a pool of five finalists during a special board meeting on April 23. His hiring was contingent upon the Board successfully negotiating a contract and conducting a site visit to Nicolet Technical College and the Rhinelander, WI, community on May 8.

The three-year contract begins July 1 and ends June 30, 2018, but may be extended at the discretion of the board.

Kenneth Urban, Ed.D, currently serves as the interim president of Nicolet College and previously served as vice president of teaching, learning and student success.

Urban earned a doctor of education in higher education leadership from Nova Southeastern University in North Miami Beach, FL, a master of business administration from Ohio State University in Athens, Ohio, a master of arts in developmental psychology from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio and a bachelor of arts in psychology from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.

Urban is expected to begin at WSCC in mid-July.
