HAMLIN TWP. — The 2015 Focus on Life Benefit Dinner sponsored by the Mason County Right to Life will be held on Thursday, April 23 at Lincoln Hills Golf Club in Ludington. The doors open at 5:30 P.M. with dinner and program starting at 6:30 P.M.

Featured guest and speaker will be author and administrative law judge Lisa K. Gigliotti who will speak about “The Courage to Honor the End of Life.” For more than 25 years Gigliotti has lived with severe rheumatoid arthritis and serious myasthenia gravis. Through 12 major surgeries she has maintained a fulfilling and positive life. She has achieved successful careers as an administrative law judge, a policy advisor for the Michigan Senate and Governor, an advocate for people with disabilities and for improving end-of-life care, and is dedicated to helping others lead more fulfilling lives. In pursuit of encouraging others, Gigliotti has written four books that describe her Italian-American upbringing and how Coraggio—courage—is the key to overcoming adversity and to achieving any endeavor.

In “The Courage to Honor the End of Life,” Gigliotti discusses the fears and values society places on end-of-life, while encouraging the use of moral courage to honor a person at the end of life; as an individual by caring for an ill person, or as a society by advocating for adequate pain management, hospice, psychological, and spiritual services.

Registration for the Focus on Life Annual Benefit Dinner is $35 per person or $280 per table of 8.  To make reservations or for questions contact Dee at 231.757.4578 or Susan at 231.843.3369. RSVP with payment by April 16, 2015.
