LUDINGTON — The Ludington Lakestride events will be held June 12 and 13. The events will include registration at Stearns Park on Friday, June 12, which includes a spaghetti dinner, which will be a fundraiser for Meals on Wheels. There will also be a 1 mile fun run Friday night that will start and finish near the beach, with the course being run on nearby streets.

Running events on Saturday, June 13 will include a half marathon, 10K race and 5K race. The races will start on Lakeshore Drive north of Tinkham Avenue and head north on Lakeshore/M-116. The 5K race will then turn right into Cartier Park and eventually end back on Lakeshore. The half-marathon will continue on M-116 and turn on Piney Ridge Road and enter the Ludington State Park, going through trails, over dunes, across the dam, along the park road and then back on M-116, finishing at Stearns Park. The 10K will turn east on Decker Road, south on Rath Road, west on Jagger Road, then south on Lakeshore to Slagle Road (Cartier Park), east to Rath Avenue, then Bryant Road west to Lakeshore Drive and finish at Stearns Park.

The Lakestride committee has requested permission from Ludington City Council to hold the event in the city. Councilors will take it under consideration when they meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. at city hall, 400 S. Harrison St.
