Probation/parole check leads to unregistered handgun arrest

VICTORY TWP. — A 51-year-old Ludington man was arrested by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and probation/parole agents Wednesday, March 11, at 8:28 p.m. after he was found in possession of an unregistered handgun in the 2700 block of North US-31 during random checks of individuals on probation/parole.

Another random probation/parole check led to the arrest of a 33-year-old Free Soil man by MCSO deputies and probation/parole agents Wednesday at 7:41 p.m. in the 2700 block of East Hoague in Free Soil Township.

Other local enforcement activity Wednesday, March 11, 2015 includes:

– 12:10 a.m., (MCSO), a 25-year-old Ludington man was arrested following a traffic stop on an outstanding warrant out of Big Rapids PD, US-10 and Tuttle, Custer Twp.

– 6:36 a.m., (MCSO), gas drive-off, $11.19 in fuel taken, 100 block of W. State St. — Admiral Gas Station, City of Scottville.

– 8:32 a.m., (LPD), alarm, 600 N. Rath Ave.

– 12 p.m., (MSP), harassing telecommunications, 6300 block of Bryant, City of Ludington.

– 1:05 p.m., (LPD), fraud, reported to police dept.

– 1:33 p.m., (LPD), larceny, reported to police dept.

– 2:41 p.m., (LPD), larceny, 300 block of S. Rath Ave.

– 9:11 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injuries, US-10 and Darr, Custer Twp.

– 11:23 p.m., (MCSO), a 39-year-old Branch woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Ogemaw County following a traffic stop, US-10 and Reek, Custer Twp.
