CUSTER — Caritas Food Pantry recently received a $3,750 grant from the Great Lakes Energy People Fund. The grant money will be used to pour cement at the entrance of the pantry providing handicap accessibility for clients.

The pantry is located in the former St. Mary’s School on South Madison Street.

In addition to adding accessibility, the cement drive will be wide enough to allow access for a truck, which brings food deliveries each month.

Members of the Great Lakes Energy support the People Fund by voluntarily rounding up their bills to the next highest dollar. The rounded up amount is distributed to non-profit organizations and charitable activities that benefit people in the communities served by the cooperative.
