HAMLIN TWP. — How bad were the roads Saturday? When Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole warned motorists to stay off the road, the warning was personal. A sheriff’s patrol car became stuck on North Lakeshore Drive early in the afternoon. Sheriff Cole reported on his Facebook page that after waiting nearly seven hours for help, the deputy finally abandoned the vehicle, which was also almost out of gas. The deputy walked about a quarter mile until he found a house with a resident who would take him in.
