79th District Court sentencings

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 79th District Court:

– Jonathan Sherrod Soloman-Jones, 23, of 709 E. Filer St., Ludington, was found guilty Feb. 3 of domestic violence. He was sentenced to 28 days in jail with credit for 28 days served; $700 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no contact with victim; and must attend Hands-Down program and follow recommendations.

– Daniel Adam Lyons, 27, of 14247 Sunview Dr., Holland, was found guilty Feb. 3 of second-offense operating while intoxicated. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; one year discretionary jail for two years; $810 in fines and costs; must attend and participate in Ottawa County Sobriety Court and follow orders; and no alcohol/drugs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

– Adam Robert Madsen, 31, of 2995 W. Townline Rd., Ludington, was found guilty (no date listed) of driving while license suspended (DWLS). He was sentenced to 23 days in jail with credit for 23 days served and 93 days discretionary jail for one year. Fines/costs suspended due to time served. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Cory Odell Derrick, 37, of 204 Second St., Apt. 1, Ludington, was found guilty Jan. 27 of second-degree retail fraud. He was sentenced to 112 days in jail with credit for 112 days served; $425 in fines and costs; and one year discretionary jail for two years.

– Kathryn Mary Wilson, 38, of 8990 W. US-10, Ludington, pleaded no contest Jan. 27 to false report to police broadcasting station. She was sentenced to 44 days in jail with credit for 44 days served; $665 in fines and costs; must obtain substance abuse counseling; $665 in fines and costs; one year discretionary jail for one year; no alcohol/drugs; must attend AA twice a week; and subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs) and drug tests.Three counts of assault and battery were dismissed.

– Randall Francis Adams, 25, of 4495 W. Anthony Rd., Ludington, was found guilty Jan. 29 of fishing without a license. He was sentenced to $250 in fines and costs.

– Steven James Savich, 31, of 5408 N. Budzynski Rd., Fountain, was found guilty Jan. 29 of fishing/possessing fish without a license and sentenced to $250 in fines and costs.

– Michael James Hill, 26, of 2827 N. Sandy Dr., Lot 5, Ludington, was found guilty Jan. 29 of DWLS. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $285 in fines and costs; and 93 days discretionary jail for one year. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Ian Joseph Strouse, 31, of 322 E. Dowland St., Ludington, was found guilty Jan. 29 of failure to display a valid license and sentenced to $275 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Dismissals

– Steven Michael, 50, of 2443 Brunson Rd., Ludington, one count of larceny $200 or more/less than $1,000 was dismissed Jan. 28. “Further prosecution at this time would not serve the ends of justice; restitution paid,” his court file states.

– Kyle Alan Burchart, 23, no address listed, one count of assault and battery was dismissed Jan. 28. “Defendant pleaded to felony matters (in another case),” his court file states.

– Thomas Charles Wieand, 46, of 5367 N. Thunderbird, Fountain, one count of domestic violence was dismissed. “Defendant has entered into a prosecutor’s deferment agreement,” his court file states.
