LUDINGTON — A 21-year-old Summit Township woman appeared in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday afternoon where she faced charges of possession of less than 25 grams of methadone  (a 4-year maximum felony) and possession of marijuana (a 1-year maximum misdemeanor).

Jenna Diane Myers was arrested Dec. 5, 2014 by Mason County Sheriff’s Office on Pere Marquette Highway near Sixth Street in Pere Marquette Township. She told Judge Susan Sniegowski that she was in possession of 13 pills of methadone and she was aware that it was illegal.

Myers was offered a plea agreement by Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola of pleading guilty to possession of less than 25 grams of methadone and offered a sentence of up to 1 year in the Mason County Jail, serving the first six months up front and the balance served at the court’s discretion. At the end of the fifth month, she may enter into a 28-day substance abuse facility.

Myers’ sentence would run concurrent with an August 2014 conviction in 79th District Court of retail fraud second degree.

She is scheduled to be sentenced March 10 at 2:45 p.m.
