Obit: Ralph Zwiesler, 85, Free Soil.

December 16, 2014

Ralph G. Zwiesler, aged 85 of Frees Soil passed away on December 15, 2014 at West Shore Medical Center in Manistee. Ralph was born on October 15, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Joseph and Ruth (Winnie) Zwiesler, attended Milford High School in Detroit, and served his country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  Ralph worked 38 years for Packaging Corporation of America in Manistee, retiring in 1991, and was a proud member of the Paper Mill Union.  He loved to putter around his workshop making birdhouses and feeders, and was always looking for ways to improve the shop, or help out at his church, Calvary Baptist in Manistee.  His dry sense of humor will be greatly missed by his friends.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and his sister.  He will be missed by his brother Alfred and Elaine Zwiesler of Howell, his nephew and niece, and his longtime friend and companion June Campbell of Free Soil.

Funeral services will be held for Ralph at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 19 at Calvary Baptist Church in Manistee, with his good friend Pastor Al Knutson officiating.  Burial will take place at Brookside Cemetery in Scottville at a later date.  Friends may gather for a time of visitation on Friday from 1:00 pm until time of services at the church.  Those who wish to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Calvary Baptist Church.  Please visit Ralph’s personal memory page to leave a tribute of Ralph, or to light a candle in his memory.
