79th District Court sentencings.

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 79th District Court:

– David Brian Richmond, Jr., 25, of 403 S. Madison St., Ludington, was found guilty Dec. 2 of operating while intoxicated. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; $1,060 in fines and costs; outpatient treatment; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend the next session of the Victims Impact Panel (VIP); must attend AA twice a week for one year; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs) and drug tests. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

– Scott Samuel-Ray MacArthur, 20, of 314 ½ N. William St., Apt. 8, Ludington, was found guilty Dec. 2 of controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and domestic violence. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served for each count; $1,120 in fines and costs; driver’s license suspended one year/restricted after 30 days; one year discretionary jail for two years for Count I; 93 days discretionary jail for two years for Count II; and subject to random PBTs and drug tests.

– Kimberly Rae Currier, 38, of 409 Second St., Ludington, was found guilty Dec. 2 of second-degree retail fraud. She was sentenced to 15 days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; must attend Economic Crime Program (ECP); and $665 in fines and costs.

– Austin William Buchholz, 19, of 458 S. Mill St., Custer, was found guilty Dec. 2 of assault and battery. He was sentenced to 93 days in jail with credit for 56 days served.

– Joshua L. Sly, 34, of 7066 E. Sandra Kay Ave., Fountain, was found guilty Dec. 4 of improper plates and sentenced to a $125 fine.

– Jimmy Wayne Walls, 49, of 3747 N. Taylor Rd., Branch, was found Dec. 4 of failure to report an accident and sentenced to $325 in fines and costs.

– Gary Leroy Chimel, 34, of 308 5th St., Apt. 1, Ludington, was found guilty Dec. 4 of failure to display a valid license and sentenced to a $275 fine, which will be added to other charges. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

– Linus Emmanuel Thalman, Jr., 54, of 2595 N. Rath Rd., Ludington, was found guilty Dec. 3 of impaired driving. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; $870 in fines and costs; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and must attend next session of VIP. Conviction is reportable to SOS. One count of driver transporting open intoxicants was dismissed.

– Ronald Eugene Sloan, Jr., was found guilty Dec. 5 of attempting to snag a fish and was sentenced to in $275 fines and costs.

Dismissals

– Olga Linnette Moreno, 28, of 609 E. Foster St., Ludington, one count of DWLS was dismissed Dec. 8. “The ends of justice do not require further prosecution of this case at this time,” court file states.

– Raymond J. Hanshue, 72, of 2454 Brunson Rd., Ludington, one count of DWLS was dismissed per plea agreement Dec. 5.

– Steven Michael Occult, 50, of 2443 Brunson Rd., Ludington, one count of larceny $1,000 or more but less than $20,000 was dismissed Dec. 3. Bond/bail continued on the remaining charge.

– Gary Wayne Simonds, 27, of 2036 N. 8th St., Fountain, one count of attempting to snag a fish or take a fish illegally was dismissed Dec. 5. “Defendant acquitted on all charges in this case after a trial by judge,” court records state.
