79th District Court sentencings

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 79th District Court:

– Carl Martin Sali, 65, of 7792 N. 186th Ave., Walkerville, was found guilty Nov. 4 of operating while impaired. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for two days served; outpatient treatment; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; must attend Impact Weekend and follow recommendations after release from jail; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs); must attend AA three times a week for two years; and $1,360 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

– Christine Marie Stafford, 51, of 2846 E. Madison Ave., Hart, was found guilty Dec. 2 of third-degree retail fraud. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for two days served; outpatient treatment; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; and $785 in fines and costs.

– Dorian Jay Sheldon, 65, of 4383 E. Free Soil Rd., Free Soil, was found guilty Dec. 2 of operating while impaired and sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); $870 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and must attend next session of the Victims’ Impact Panel (VIP). Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Charles John Jensen, Jr., 37, of 505 N. Washington Ave., Apt. 13, Ludington, was found guilty Nov. 25 of operating while impaired. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $870 in fines and costs; outpatient treatment; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend next session of VIP; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random PBTs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Ashley Nicole Martinsen, 25, of 2495 S. Beaune Rd., Ludington, was found guilty Nov. 25 of operating while impaired. She was sentenced to $935 in fines and costs; outpatient treatment; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend next session of VIP; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random PBTs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Kelly Michael Scharich, 40, of 2085 E. Townline Rd., Free Soil, was found guilty Nov. 25 of DWLS and controlled substance, possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to 45 days in jail for each count with credit for 11 days served; one year discretionary jail for two year for each count (concurrent); must have substance abuse evaluation and follow recommendations; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; $990 in fines and costs; and driver’s license suspended one year/restricted after 30 days.

– Bryan Alan Miller, 25, of 4535 N. 68th Ave., Hart, was found guilty Nov. 25 of operating while impaired. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; AHSE; $870 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend next session of VIP; must attend substance abuse counseling; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random PBTs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of driver transporting open intoxicants was dismissed.

– Raymond J. Hanshue, 72, of 2454 Brunson Rd., Ludington, was found guilty Dec. 1 of allowing a person to drive in violation. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and $335 in fines and costs.

Dismissals

– Benjamin Lee Towers, 37, no address listed, one count of domestic violence was dismissed per a plea agreement, Nov. 26.

– Lee Pizana, 38, of 126 Hancock St., Apt. ½, Manistee, one count of operating a motor vehicle without security was dismissed Dec. 2.
