PERE MARQUETTE TWP. — Peebles recently donated $976.10 to the Mason County Firefighters Training Committee. The money was raised by the company along with its customers, who were asked if they would like to donate when they made a purchase. This is the second donation made by the store this year, the first was for $1,200.

According to Robin Arlt, of the training committee, the first donation will be used to purchase a training mannequin that will be used for vehicle extrication, medical and search and rescue trainings.

“This is something that we would not have been able to purchase with our regular funding,” Arlt said. “We have not yet designated where the second donation is going to go yet.”

The training committee is responsible for training the firefighters on all 11 Mason County fire departments. It is funded through the Mason County Rural Fire Authority and the Western Mason County Fire District.
