The polls open at 7 a.m. Tuesday and will close at 8 p.m. Here are the local candidates and ballot issues you may see on your Mason County ballot:

  • 51st Circuit Court Judge Candidates. Select one: Susan K. Sniegowski, Paul Spaniola.
  • County Commission District 4 (northern Pere Marquette Twp. and Amber Twp.). Select one: Ronnie D. Smith (D), Curtis S. VanderWall (R)- incumbent.
  • County Commission District 7 (Eden, Logan, Custer, Branch townships and southern half of Sheridan Twp.). Select one: Aldon Maleckas (D), Thomas M. Posma (R) – incumbent.
  • City of Scottville First Ward Commissioner (west of Main Street). Select one: Denise M. Dongvillo – incumbent, Edward Hahn.
  • Village of Free Soil:
    • Village President. Vote for one: Bernita Eddy Hurd, Edward Morley.
    • Trustee. Three to be elected: Duane Haiss, Michael Lusk, George Merz Sr., Richard Roberts.
  • Ludington Area Schools Board of Education. Three to be elected: Bret G. Autrey, Steven Carlson, Raymond Janish, Michael W. Nagle.
  • Sheridan Township road improvement millage: Shall Sheridan Township impose an increase of up to 1 mill ($1 per $1,000 of taxable value) in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution and levy it for 5 years, 2014 through 2018 inclusive, for the purpose of road improvements, which 1-mill increase will raise an estimated $47,200 in the first year the millage is levied?
