PERE MARQUETTE TWP. — A 29-year-old Durand man was arrested by Mason County sheriff’s deputies Monday afternoon for being intoxicated/disorderly. The arrest took place at 5:33 p.m. at 50 S. Jackson Rd. The man was found “highly intoxicated and passed out,” according to Sheriff Kim Cole. The man was medically cleared at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital prior to being lodged at the Mason County Jail. Other activity of Mason County Sheriff’s Office for Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 included:


  • 6:31 a.m.: Overdue hunter, 6700 block of East Dewey Rd., Sheridan Twp. Lost hunter found with assistance from Branch, Fountain and Custer fire departments. See related story here.

  • 4 p.m.: Two vehicle broadside crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 and Meyers Rd., P.M. Twp.
  • 7:13 p.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 and Darr Rd., Custer Twp.
