LUDINGTON — Deputies from Mason County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 25-year-old Ludington man Thursday at 9:06 a.m. on a felony warrant for flight to avoid prosecution along with a criminal bench warrant for failure to appear in court. The arrest took place in the 200 block of South Washington Ave. The man fled into a house as Ludington Police Department officers and sheriff’s deputies approached him. He was found hiding in a bathroom. A 22-year-old Ludington woman and a 28-year-old Custer woman were also arrested for obstruction of a police offider for their actions at the scene.

The 25-year-old man had originally not appeared in court on a charge of controlled substance possession second arrest from Mason County Sheriff’s Office.

Other activity of local law enforcement for Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014 included:

 

  • 5:45 a.m.: Deputies responded to a car/deer crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 and Tyndall Rd., Branch Twp.
  • 1:24 p.m.: Troopers from Michigan State Police Hart Post responded to a suspicious situation where animal bones were found near at Modjeski Dr. and Forest Trail Rd., Grant Twp.
  • 8:02 p.m.: Deputies responded to a car/deer crash, no injuries, U.S. 31 freeway and Meisenheimer Rd., Summit Twp.
  • 9:43 p.m.: Deputies arrested a 19-year-old Ludington man on two outstanding failure to appear warrants out of Mason County following a traffic stop at U.S. 10 and Jebavy Dr.
