PERE MARQUETTE TWP. — Mason County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a 39-year-old Holland man Saturday night and charged him with counts of unwanted person and also for several outstanding warrants. At 11:11 p.m., deputies were called to Holiday Inn Express on West U.S. 10 for a complaint of a man sleeping the motel lobby. He was wanted on outstanding warrants from Muskegon County Friend of the Court (arrears of $11,234); criminal bench warrant (failure to register as a sex offender) out of Ottawa County; possession of marijuana warrant from Ottawa County; criminal bench warrant (breaking and entering) out of Ottawa County; criminal bench warrant (possession of marijuana) out of Ottawa County; and a criminal bench warrant (driving while under the influence of alcohol) out of Norton Shores Police Dept.

Oct. 3, 2014:

  • 2:51 a.m.: Open door to a business, 4900 block of West U.S. 10, Pere Marquette Twp. Deputy found door open during a routine property check.

  • 3:47 a.m.: Alarm activation, 200 block of South Main St., City of Scottville.

  • 7:24 a.m.: A 29-year-old Hart man was cited for driving while license suspended following a single vehicle crash, no injuries, on northbound U.S. 31 expressway near Pere Marquette Hwy. overpass, Summit Twp.

  • 7:41 a.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, P.M. Hwy. and Schlik Rd., Summit Twp.

  • 8:27 a.m.: Suspicious vehicle, 7100 block of Wever Rd., Branch Twp. Gone upon arrival.

  • 11:48 a.m.: Larceny of money, 5300 block of West U.S. 10, Pere Marquette Twp. The victim dropped his wallet in a business parking lot. Upon realizing, he returned and fond the wallet with approximately $500 in cash missing from the wallet.

  • 11:57 a.m.: Drug crime, 3600 block of Hidden Forest, Amber Twp., report forwarded to prosecutor’s office.

  • 1:48 p.m.: Harassment, 4800 block of Cleveland St., Village of Fountain.

  • 3:12 p.m.: Alarm activation, 2100 block of 32nd St., Sheridan Twp.

  • 3:18 p.m.: Retail fraud, 4500 block of West U.S. 10, Amber Twp, $340 in merchandise stolen.

  • 3:20 p.m.: Failure to pay at a campsite, Mason County Campground, Chauvez Rd., P.M. Twp. Case open.

  • 4:15 p.m.: Vehicle identification number inspection, 5900 block of Grace St., Hamlin Twp.

  • 5:05 p.m.: Damaged property, windows broken out of a house, 9000 block of East U.S. 10, Branch Twp.

  • 6:30 p.m.: A 43-year-old St. Joseph man received minor injuries after he struck a downed tree on a trail on Trail #6343 in the Manistee National Forest. After striking the tree he flipped over the handlebars, striking a second tree.

  • 8:06 p.m.: Alarm activation, 3300 block of East Hawley Rd., Eden Twp.

  • 8:30 p.m.: Two vehicle rear-end crash, no injuries, P.M. Hwy. and Chauvez Rd., P.M. Twp.

SpringsteadHoriz_2Oct. 4, 2014:

  • 12:09 a.m.: Well being check, 8500 block of East U.S. 10, Branch Twp.

  • 1:06 a.m.: Well being check, 143 N. Jebavy Dr., P.M. Twp. Intoxicated person passed out in a taxi cab on the ride home. The 43-year-old Ludington man was awakened and turned over to a sober friend.

  • 2:07 a.m.: DWLS first citation; A 29-year-old Hart woman was cited following a traffic stop at U.S. 10 and P.M. Hwy., P.M. Twp.

Oct. 5, 2014:

  • 9:45 a.m.: Larceny from a vehicle, Sutton’s Landing, West Iris Rd., P.M. Twp.

  • 11:20 a.m.: Dog bite, Poncho’s Pond, Wallace Dr., P.M. Twp. An 8-year-old child was allegedly bitten by a dog. Turned over to animal control.

  • 5:31 p.m.: Shots heard, Nelson and Barton roads, P.M. Twp. Unable to locate.

  • 6:27 p.m.: A 54-year-old Ludington man was arrested at Wal-Mart, P.M. Twp, when he was found to be in the store after being served no trespassing papers. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Mason County.

  • 9:07 p.m.: Illegal entry, 1200 block of West Meisenheimer Rd., Riverton Twp. Case closed.
