almost_mcgraw_wsccVICTORY TWP.  – Country legend Tim McGraw will take the stage at Ludington’s Peterson Auditorium on Sat., Sept, 20, at 7:30 p.m., as the first event in the West Shore Community College 30th Anniversary 2014-15 Performing Arts Series–ALMOST!  “Almost” because it is “Almost McGraw,” a tribute to the country giant as performed by McGraw look and sound-alike, Todd Sullivan.

Todd Sullivan began performing as Tim McGraw at local fairs, festivals, and at private parties for nearly two years before taking the leap into the world of tribute artists.

Sullivan as Tim McGraw is sought after as one the leading tribute artists in the country. His portrayal of Tim McGraw is uncanny in every way from the looks, the moves, right down to the vocals that McGraw is famous for.

“Todd Sullivan will have you guessing, is it Tim McGraw or not,” says Dr. Rick Plummer, WSCC Director of Performing Arts.

Sullivan hails from Florence, South Carolina and has performed his tribute to Tim McGraw thousands of times all across the United States at major venues and casinos.  He has performed at The Grand Ol’ Opry in Nashville, has been featured twice in Country Weekly Magazine, appeared on the TNN Country Music Awards with Jeff Foxworthy, and has been spotlighted in countless radio shows, movies, and newspapers!

“Almost McGraw” includes Todd Sullivan (lead vocalist) as Tim McGraw, Donnie Dover on keyboards, Paul Tuttle on lead guitar, Freddie Banner on bass, and Shawn Wilkes on drums.

Opening for “Almost McGraw,” will be local musicians from “Awesome Distraction,” featuring lead singer and guitarist Chloe Kimes and Kyle Garber.

Todd’s tribute has been described as a mix of country and rock. “This incredible show will contain a few surprises that one wouldn’t expect from a tribute artist,” says WSCC Associate Professor of Music and assistant director of the Series, Ted Malt.

“Dead-on vocals!” and Incredible re-creation!” is how critics and audiences alike have hailed this act, Plummer adds.
