College president arrested for drunk driving

MANISTEE — Charles Dillon, president of West Shore Community College, was arrested by Manistee Police Dept. for drunk driving Wednesday night.

According to Dave Bachman, director of public safety, Dillon was stopped by MPD about 9 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of Olsen Grocery store.

Officers were responding to reports of a drunk driver called into 911.

Dillon was stopped, evaluated and arrested for operating under the influence of liquor.

He was lodged in the Manistee County Jail overnight.

He was released on bond this morning, Bachman said, adding that Dillon did not take a breath test and blood was drawn for testing at the Michigan State Police lab.bResults take about two weeks.
