Woman charged with smuggling drugs into jail

LUDINGTON — A 51-year-old Ludington woman has been arrested by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office for attempting to smuggle pills into the Mason County Jail when she was booked into the facility Tuesday evening. She has been charged with smuggling contraband into a correctional facility.

Other activity of the sheriff’s office for Tuesday, July 15, 2014 included:

– 3:11 p.m.: Unwanted person, 143 N. Jebavy Dr., Pere Marquette Twp. Subject left upon request.

– 7:41 p.m.: Alarm activation, 100 block of East Millerton Rd., Sherman Twp.

– 9:16 p.m.: A 36-year-old Ludington man was cited for driving while license suspended first offense following a traffic stop at Washington Ave. and Filer St., City of Ludington.

– 10:39 p.m.: Assist to Dept. of Natural Resources, Ludington State Park, Hamlin Twp., along with Life EMS and Hamlin Twp. Fire Dept. Report of a woman unconscious in Beechwood campground restroom.
