Summerween at the library

July 15, 2014

SummerweenLUDINGTON — The Mason County District Library will be celebrating Halloween a little early this year. On Monday, July 28, the Ludington branch will hold a Summerween celebration for children 8 and older beginning at 11 a.m. Crafts, games, trick-or-treating and scary stories (children appropriate) will be held.

Check out the library’s schedule at www.MCDLibrary.org for other activities at the library.

The library is encouraging children to sign up for summer reading. Children who do not read over the summer will lose some of their skills if they do not practice reading.

Only 20 minutes a day of reading are required, with lots of prizes available from our supportive local business community.  This year’s summer reading sponsors include:  AJ’s Adventureland, Applebee’s, Big Apple Bagels, Dairy Queen, Family Video, Freedom Martial Arts, Harbor Cinemas, House of Flavors, Hungry Howie’s, KFC, Little Caesar’s, Ludington Area Jaycees Mini Golf, Mancino’s, Meijer, Occidental Chemical Corporation, Old Hamlin, Pizza Hut, Ponderosa, Save a Lot, Shop-n-Save, Subway, Taco Bell, Wal-Mart, and, of course, the Friends of the Library.
