MCC board meets at 6:30 tonight, organizational meeting at 7

July 14, 2014

SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central Board of Education will meet beginning at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the high school board room. The board will first hold a work session to review board self assessment survey results and provide an update from School Advance Board Training.

An organizational meeting will be held from 7 to 7:10 p.m. The board holds two organizational meetings per year, one in January and one in July. During this meeting the board will bond Central Business Office administrators and official signatures. These are the same as they have been for 8 years but require official board action.

The board will also approve the 2014-2015 meeting schedule. It will also set the tuition rate for non-resident students who enroll after the schools of choice window closes. That rate is $1. Traditionally the fee is waived.

The regular board meeting begins at 7:10 p.m. The agenda is rather light with regular reports from administrators and an opportunity for public comment.

All meetings are open to the public with the exception of a closed session at the end of the regular meeting to discuss the superintendent’s evaluation. All board action must take place in open session.
