PERE MARQUETTE TWP. — A pedestrian was injured after he was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of U.S. 10 and Jebavy Drive Monday morning. The incident occurred about 10:45 a.m. Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Pere Marquette Fire Department, Ludington Fire Department and Life EMS responded.

The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. First responders on the scene said he was alert when he was placed into the ambulance.

Deputies on scene said they were unclear what happened. However, it appears the 80-year-old female driver of a silver Lexus SUV was turning east onto U.S. 10 from Jebavy Drive and struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk.

The crash remains under investigation.
