Car wash to help Dumas family

May 30, 2014

SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central Middle School is sponsoring a fundraiser to support the Scott Dumas family, a sixth grade social studies teacher, who was a victim of hit and run accident on April 16.  Scott is presently recovering from serious injuries as a result of this tragic accident.   On Saturday, May 31, 2014 MCC Middle School students will be conducting a car wash at West Shore Bank from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Donations are welcome.

In addition to the car wash, “Dumas Strong” T-shirts will be sold.  The T-shirts can be purchased by placing your order with the Mason County Central Middle School Office at 231-757-3724.  Extra T-shirts may be purchased at the car wash while supplies last.  The cost of T-shirts will be $15.

Hungry Howie’s Pizza owner Pat Patterson — a fellow high school classmate of Scott’s —  is providing “Dumas Strong” pizza slices the day of the car wash which can be purchased for $1 each. With a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Dumas Strong campaign.

The Dumas Strong campaign has been organized and inspired by seventh grade students Andee Carter and Lindsay Billow.   MCC Middle School students and staff are also supporting and participating in the fundraising campaign.
