Damage in southern Mason County

The above map shows where the majority of Saturday night’s storm hit. Unofficial reports have indicated that wind gusts of 70 mph came through the area around 8:15 p.m.

Major tree and electric wire damage was reported in the Bass Lake area. The red dots show where damage was reported. As of 1 a.m. the following roads were closed:

– Lakeshore Drive is closed between Meisenheimer and Oceana Drive.
– South Pere Marquette Hwy. between Hawley and Oceana Drive.
– Stiles Road between Marrison and Washington Roads
– Meisenheimer Road is closed from PM Hwy. to Lakeshore Dr.

Buildings that have been reported damaged included:

– Duane and Leslie Cooper’s house on Meisenheimer west of Pere Marquette Highway in Summit Township.

– Two barns on Hawley Road between Brye and Morton roads.

– Two barns on Beard Road near LaSalle Road.
